Colorful CT Summer Lakeside Wedding

Weddings

Molly + James’ colorful Connecticut lakeside wedding was one for the books! Most of their guests were coming from out of state, so they hosted a full weekend of celebration for everyone in coastal Connecticut. This meant a lot of information to communicate to them, which presented an interesting challenge. I wanted to avoid having it feel busy and too focused on content vs. design, so we decided to use icons and color-coding to help organize all the details. (Fortunately they had a bright + extensive color palette for their wedding, which included coral, greens, navy and gold.) Each event had a symbol and color as shown on the card, then the bride’s sister hand-drew a map with the icons showing the location of all the events. We kept the invitation card itself classic with a custom-designed crest, and added a note of glamour with their initials in gold foil. There was no way to open this suite and not get a big smile on your face! The icons and crest were then used throughout the wedding paper story, including custom coasters, napkins, drink stirrers, and plenty of signage! Stacie Shea Events executed a gorgeous lakeside affair, and Vicki + Erik were on hand to capture every last beautiful detail! Scroll down to see all the pretty from their big day. (Man, it was hard to narrow down which photos to share!) Molly + James, thank you for trusting me with your incredible vision for your wedding. You gave me a challenge that I loved, and I wish we could do it all again! Cheers to years of happiness together.
