Featured on Oh Lovely Day: Eco-Friendly Photo Shoot

Uncategorized

I’m so excited to finally share this gorgeous eco-friendly styled shoot we did last spring, which was recently featured on Oh Lovely Day. Amy Champagne was the creative force behind the entire shoot, and was really committed to being green. So much so, I half-expected her to arrive in a car that was running on granola + in clothes she had sewn out of old burlap table runners. But alas, my friend managed to stay true to sustainability while creating a look that was so fresh + pretty! Little Random Details created organic soaps as favors, a great take-home for guests. And check out the naturally growing florals from the garden at the Keeler Tavern Museum. Breathtaking! Paper is a big part of weddings, so being green presented a fun challenge. The invitation suite was printed on recycled stock, and I used seeded paper as the backer for the invite card.I created corner “anchors” of raffia that the invite slipped off of, so as not to compromise the seeds sleeping inside! The invite was printed on glassine paper which let the natural texture of the seeded paper show through. The final piece was a card directing guests to a wedding website for instructions on planting the paper. Amy had discovered that cut green onions could be planted + regrown, so we used those as the escort cards. TIP: This is a great way to add color to your tablescape! The bottom of each menu had instructions for planting the onions, which I perforated to create a 2-in-1 card. Easy for guests to take home the care instructions! Erica O’Brien gave us another jaw-dropping cake, and I made my debut in hand-lettering on chalk. Not sure I’ll be adding this to my repertoire JUST yet, though :). And now to the gorgeous couple. It’s hard to choose which photos to share, as Ashley Therese captured them so beautifully. Here’s a look at some more of the lovely (+ delicious) details…For more pretty + the full vendor reel, be sure to check out the Oh Lovely Day blog feature. And head over to the Amy Champagne blog post for a complete debrief on her eco-friendly efforts!

Only 8 more days ’til spring!
